GW Faculty Recording Guidance

In accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and in conjunction with accessibility expectations of the Americans with Disabilities Act, a student registered with Disability Support Services may have a documented need to record class lectures as their notetaking accommodation. The student’s need will be verified in the approved accommodation plan outlined in the DSS Letter to Professors that they are required to share with faculty at the beginning of a semester.

In addition, the Lecture Recording Guidance form may be used to establish an agreement with any student eligible to record lectures as a reasonable accommodation. It can ensure an understanding of the respect and privacy of all concerned. You can download and print the PDF.
